Wedding Photography

Have you been asked to photograph a friend or loved one’s wedding? If so, here are some wedding photography tips that will help ensure your photographs are top notch.

Using a digital camera in wedding photography is a must. The photographs that are produced through digital cameras are of higher quality than ordinary cameras.

When you are taking pictures pay close attention to what is going on in the background. Many new photographers are so intently focused on their subjects that they fail to take into account things in the background which can deter from the photograph. Try to avoid backgrounds that are busy or that have objects that will end up looking like they are coming out of your subject’s bodies!

If you have been asked to do wedding photography and you are photographing individuals who wear glasses, ask them to tilt their head down and slightly to the side. This will help to prevent the glare from their glasses making bright spots on the photograph.

The reception is a great place to get great wedding photography shots. Make sure you capture all the special things such as the cutting of the cake, removal of the wife’s garter belt and so on. Casually walk around the reception and snap photographs of the married couple’s friends and family having a good time.

Don’t forget to take pictures of the flowers, especially the bride’s bouquet.

If you are at an elaborate wedding be sure to take pictures of anything that appears a lot of money went into – such as elaborate table settings, decorations, engraved napkins and so on.

Don’t forget to take a picture of everyone in the wedding party with the bride and groom! This includes family, friends and relatives who may not actually be in the wedding but who are loved by the bride and groom.
